Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, July 31, 1942 Mrs. Effie McCollum Is Called By Death Mrs. Effie McCollum, 75, central Idaho resident for 50 years, died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul H. Wyatt, 717 Third street. Death was caused by heart disease. Mrs. McCollum, a native of Iowa, resided for many years at Orofino and served as treasurer of Clearwater county from 1921 to 1933. Later she and her husband, the late Elbert [Albert] McCollum, engaged in the hotel business at Orofino. She came to Lewiston one month ago to reside at the home of her daughter. Mrs. McCollum was a communicant of the Christian Science church and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors are Mrs. Hyatt, her brother, William Bracy, Walla Walla, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Vassar-Rawls chapel. Funeral arrangements are pending. |
