Lorraine McCabe Dead After 6-Week Illness; Junior High Freshman

Lorraine Mae McCabe, 14-year old daughter of Mrs. Carl Gardner and the late Bradley H. McCabe, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 4:30 yesterday morning. Death was attributed to complications following major surgery performed on March 24. Her condition had been critical for the last several weeks.

Miss McCabe was born at Lewiston on June 9, 1930. She attended St. Stanislaus school, where she was graduated from the eighth grade last May. She was active in various groups at the Lewiston junior high school, where she was a member of the ninth grade class, until illness caused her to leave school.

Active In Youth Work

Active in youth work of St. Stanislaus parish, she was secretary of the Catholic youth organization at the time of her death. She recently was presented a sterling silver medal in recognization [sic] of her work in the organization.

Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Gardner, three aunts, Mrs. Weaver M. Robison and Mrs. A. O. Sanders, both of Lewiston, Mrs. E. A. Garrison, Great Falls, Mont., here when death came; four uncles, Louis Primus, Clarkston; T. J. Primus, Frank Primus, and John Primus, all of Salem, Ore., and her step-father, Carl Gardner. Frank Primus and T. J. Primus will be here for the funeral.

A rosary service will be conducted at Vassar-Rawls chapel at 7:30 tonight with funeral services to be held tomorrow at 9 from St. Stanislaus church with the Rev. Fr. John Concannon as officiant. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery.
