Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, March 31, 1928 Death of J. E. M'Allister Pioneer of Lewiston Section Passed Away Yesterday. James E. McAllister, 60, pioneer resident of the Culdesac and Lewiston section, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital yesterday afternoon, following several weeks of illness. Mr. McAllister was born April 10, 1867, at Clay City, Illinois, and came west to Culdesac in 1902, where the family resided until 1915, when they moved to Pasco. After a seven years' residence at Pasco Mr. McAllister returned to New Perce county, residing in Lewiston and the Tammany section since. He was a member of the Pasco Methodist church and Modern Woodmen lodge. Surviving are his widow, Winona W. McAllister, four children and six grand-children. The children are: Eugene McAllister, Clarkston; Marx McAllister, Caldwell; Mrs. Raymond Kernan, Lewiston, and Mrs. M. E. Mushlitz, Genesee. The remains are at the Vassar parlors where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in the Normal Hill cemetery. |
