Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, June 12, 1925 George F. Mackey Dead Was Pioneer Resident of Stites and Elk City George F. Mackey, a pioneer resident of the Stites community, and a miner and prospector of the Elk City region for many years, died yesterday morning at St. Joseph's hospital, of an infectious disease with which he has been suffering for some time. He was 67 years of age, and with his wife, who was at his bedside, has resided the past few years at Soap Lake, Wa. The funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Vassar chapel, with Rev. D. J. W. Somerville in charge. A trio composed of Sarah Somerville, Mrs. Boyd Cornelison and Mrs. Gertrude Roos, sang three selections, with Mrs. Elsa Peterson Hughes at the organ. The interment was made at the Normal Hill cemetery. |
