Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday., Feb. 8, 1944 Pioneer Of Region Is Taken By Death Donald MacKenzie, 84, central Idaho pioneer, and a resident of Lewiston for the last 10 years, died at the Howlett nursing home at Clarkston at 4:30 a.m. yesterday of infirmities of age. He was born in Illinois July 10, 1858, and came west with his parents when he was two years old. He resided in the Moscow area before coming here. He was a retired farmer. Survivors are his son, Hollis MacKenzie, Newport, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Alta Matthews, Lewiston, and Mrs. Daisy Potter, Clarkston; his sister, Mrs. Mary Buchanan, Moscow, and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. Funeral services will be held at Moscow tomorrow with Brower-Wann in charge. |
