Mace Taken By Death William John Mace, 75, well-known retired building contractor of Lewiston, died suddenly at 5:50 o'clock yesterday morning at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. His health had been on the decline for several months. Mr. Mace was born Nov. 24, 1869, in Ontario, Canada, and came to the United States 50 years ago. After residing in Wisconsin 17 years, where he was engaged in the contracting business with his brothers, he came to Lewiston 33 years ago. He retired from active business in 1938. Mr. Mace was a communicant of the Catholic church, a member of the Knights of Columbus for the last 40 years, and an affiliate of the Holy Name society of St. Stanislaus parish. List of Survivors. Survivors are four sons and one daughter, W. Mark Mace, Lewiston; Cpl. John T. Mace, Patterson field, Ohio; Neal S. Mace, Seattle; J. Edward Mace, Spokane; Mrs. Oscar Carlson, Moscow; one sister, Mrs. Anna Head, Stockbridge, Wis., and six grandchildren. All of his children will be here for the funeral to be held Thursday at 9 o'clock from St. Stanislaus church, with the Rev. Fr. Francis Gleeson officiant at mass. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery with the Vassar-Rawls funeral home in charge of arrangements. |
