Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, January 20, 1920 H. C. Jackson Dead. Pioneer Resident of Lewiston Orchards Stricken by Paralysis. H. C. Jackson, pioneer resident of Lewiston Orchards, died yesterday evening at 5:27 o'clock from paralysis with which he was stricken Saturday forenoon at 10 o'clock. Mr. Jackson did not recover consciousness after he was stricken. Mr. Jackson had been in failing health for the past four years, having first been stricken with paralysis about four years ago. He since suffered two minor strokes but was able to be about and was feeling unusually good Saturday morning immediately before being stricken. Mr. Jackson was about 67 years of age and before coming to Lewiston Orchards was engaged in the operation of stage lines in Idaho county. He came to Lewiston Orchards when the district was first placed on the market and was one of the staunch friends of the project who waged the early battles in behalf of marketing the districts' products. He possessed those traits of character that command the highest esteem of his neighbors in all communities in which he resided. Mr. Jackson was about 67 years of age and is survived by his wife and seven children, the latter being: Leslie Jackson, Sedro-Wooley; Mrs. Charles H. Hanson, Seattle; Mrs. T. F. Rolfe, Portland; Lynn, Wayne, Joseph and Vesta Jackson, Lewiston Orchards. The funeral arrangements will be announced today. |
