Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, January 10, 1925 William P. Hayes Dead Pioneer of Gifford Section Was Victim of Pneumonia. Gifford, Jan. 8 - William P. Hayes, aged 65 years, a pioneer resident of the Gifford region, died here tonight at his home of pneumonia, following an illness of a week's duration. Mr. Hayes came here 22 years ago and followed the carpenter trade for many years. He has been manual training teacher and janitor at the Gifford school for the past ten years. Mr. Hayes is survived by his widow, four daughters and a son. His son, Everett, was an arrival last evening from Portland. The daughters who survive are: Mrs. Charles Pilgrim, Culdesac; Mrs. Lottie Tiede, Alberta; Mrs. Minnie Clark, Gifford, and Mrs. Peter Clark, residing in Kansas. The funeral arrangements have not been made. |
