The Kendrick Gazette Friday, March 4, 1910 Death of August Hartung August Hartung died at his home near Cameron, Saturday, Feb. 26, after an illness of several weeks from typhoid fever; aged 29 years, 9 mo. Mr. Hartung was born in Sibley County, Minnesota, June 6th, 1880, where he lived until moving to the Potlatch with the rest of the family in 1901, making and holding the friendship of every resident of the Potlatch section, being universally esteemed as a young man of upright character. The death of August is the first break in a family of 8 children, surviving him, besides a father and mother, are two brothers, Carl and Wm. A., both living near Cameron; and five sisters, Mrs. Theresa Mielke, Mrs. Helena Schwarz and Misses Eda and Emma Hartung, who live in this section, and Mrs. Johanna Schmidt of Spokane. Funeral services, which were very largely attended, were held Tuesday, March 1st, with burial at Cameron cemetery.
