Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, January 17, 1913 Death Calls Ben Dill Pioneer Lewiston Meat Dealer Victim of Malady With Which He was Affected for Considerable Period - End Came This Morning. Ben Dill, senior member of the firm of Dill Bros., died at his home this morning at 2 o'clock from diabetes, from which he has been a sufferer for some time. Mr. Dill had been feeling poorly for several days but he was able to be at his place of business Wednesday. His condition took a turn for the worse late yesterday afternoon but his condition was not regarded as critical until late in the night. Mr. Dill was past 52 years of age and had been a resident of Lewiston for the greater part of the time since 1878. In the fall of 1889 he engaged in business with his brother, John Dill, and since that time the brothers have been associated together in the meat and grocery business. He is survived by his wife, his mother, his brother John Dill, his sister, Mrs. Mary Dubuc, all of Lewiston, a sister, Mrs. Dunn, of Portland, a brother Bryan, at San Francisco, and a brother, Dan, of Skagit county, Washington. Mr. Dill was a gentleman of fine character and his happy disposition endeared him to a wide circle of friends throughout the eastern Washington and central Idaho country. |
