Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, September 4, 1948 Richard Blewett, 73, Succumbs At Kamiah Kamiah, Sept. 3. - Richard William Blewett, 73, Stites resident, died here this afternoon at the Grove hospital. He was born in Taylor county, Iowa, on May 7, 1875. At an early age, he moved to Kansas with his parents. On Nov. 3, 1902, he was married to Mabel Nelson at Kay county, Oklahoma, where they lived until 1911 when they moved to Gifford. In 1919 they moved to States [as written] where he farmed until his death. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Aletha Tabst, Gifford; Mrs. Thelma Mellinger, Boise, and Mrs. Inez Armitage, Kendrick; one son, Nelson R. Blewett, Stites; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Scherbow, Gifford, and Mrs. Laura Turner, Henryetta, Okla.; two brothers, G. L. Blewett, Spokane, and F. M. Blewett, Stites; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Trenary funeral home at Kooskia Sunday morning at 10. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the IOOF cemetery at Gifford. The Rev. John Rice of Grangeville will officiate.
