Lewiston Morning Tribune Thursday, August 11, 1955 Former Gifford Resident Passes Mrs. Eliza M. Black, 93, long-time resident of Gifford, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, at 8 a.m. yesterday. Mrs. Black lived at Gifford from 1905 to 1945, moving to Seattle then. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was born July 4, 1862, at Sweet Water, Tenn., and lived there until her Gifford residence. Following her move to Seattle in 1945, she lived at Spokane. She was married to David Black at Golden City, Mo. He died in 1923. Survivors include two sons, George Black, Little Rock, Ark., and Orville Black, Brewster, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Francis Mileck, Spokane; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Brower-Wann Funeral Home, Lewiston, is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.
