Lewiston Morning Tribune Thurs., June 7, 1951 Lanie W. Bellmore, Peck Pioneer, Dead Mrs. Lanie Warlick Bellmore, 79, who homesteaded in the Peck area with her husband many years ago, died at 6 yesterday morning at the Nelson nursing home, Lewiston Orchards. Death was due to the infirmities of age. Born at Kings Mountain, N. C., Jan. 13, 1872, Miss Lanie Smith married W. L. Warlick in 1889, and they came west, settling first at LaGrande, Ore. After leaving LaGrande, they homesteaded at Peck, where they remained until 1928. After her first husband's death, she moved to Lewiston and later married Phillip H. Bellmore, who survives. Her home was at 1437 Idaho St. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bellmore is survived by a brother, Tom Smith, Kings Mountain; a grandson, Lawson Black, Spokane; three nieces, Agnes Warlick, Richmond; Hazel Hammond, Moscow; and Minta Holmes, Peck; two nephews, Ben Warlick, Big Fork, Mont.; and Peck Warlick, Billings, Mont. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at Merchant's chapel, Clarkston, with the Rev. Paul Deane Hill officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill cemetery. Brower-Wann funeral home is in charge of arrangements. |
