Lewiston Morning Tribune May 9, 1902 Death Of John Barton. He Passed Away Last Evening at Home East of City. John Barton died at 7 o'clock last evening of pneumonia, the disease having developed from an attack of lagrippe. He was taken sick about three weeks ago, but had been improving until yesterday afternoon when he took a severe relapse. Drs. Moxley and Sterling were immediately summoned and were at his bedside when he passed away. The deceased, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Barton, came to Lewiston 18 years ago from San Diego, Cal., and has resided in this city almost continuously since. By his high integrity, industry and congenial manners he cultivated the friendship of all who knew him and the community will join in the sympathy that will be extended to the grief stricken relatives. Two years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Maud Reynolds, of this city, who survives him. For some time past he has been engaged in the stock business at his home four miles east of the city.
