Lewiston Morning Tribune Wednesday, January 7, 1914 George F. Babcock Dead Succumbed Last Evening as Result of Stroke of Paralysis. George F. Babcock died last night at 8:30 o'clock at his home in this city as a result of a stroke of paralysis. He was born August 20, 1834, in Courtland county, New York, and was a pioneer of Green county, Wisconsin. His father, Reuben Babcock, was a captain and drill master in the war of 1812. George Babcock with his family came to Idaho in 1888 and located on a homestead in the Craig Mountain district near Forest. He resided there until 1909 when he moved to Lewiston and his wife died here a year later. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. They are Ross Babcock and Charles Babcock, of Craig Mountain; Mrs. J. B. Rice, of this city, and Mrs. Ester Olson, of Jacksonville, Illinois. The funeral will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Vassar chapel.
