Death of John C. Addison.

The Funeral Will be Held in This City This Afternoon.

After months of patient suffering, John C. Addison died at 11 o'clock Saturday night at the Moscow hospital. The cause of his death was an affliction of the eye which developed into a form of cancer. The disease developed last August and three operations were performed, but its ravages could not be checked, and he gradually failed until the end came.

The deceased was born May 3, 1870, in the state of Indiana, and came west at an early age with his parents, who located in Oregon and later in Washington. He came to Lewiston about five years ago and was employed at the Haevernick livery stables and subsequently at the Mallory & Lydon stables. He was also engaged for a time in the mercantile business on the Clearwater Short Line. His modest manners and high character attracted to him many friends and his death will be deeply mourned. He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Wright, of Dayton, Wash., to whom he was married on February 1, 1899. His father, five sisters and two brothers survive him.

The remains of the deceased were brought to this city Sunday from Moscow and the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the funeral arrangements to be under the charge of the local lodge of Odd Fellows, of which he was a member.
