He was born in Sweden, March 12, 1829 and emigrated to the United States in 1868 and located in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a pioneer of South Dakota where he lived six years. From thence he came to North Idaho in 1878 and has lived in the Moscow country ever since, till one year ago, on account of his health he came to Lewiston to reside. His ailments were such, however that climate nor medical skill could do him but little good.

In his death his wife loses a loving husband, the children a good father and the neighborhood an honorable and upright man.
