Mrs. Daniel Tucker Rites To Be Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Tucker, nee Elizabeth Akers of this city, will be conducted this morning at 9:30 from St. Stanislaus church. The Rev. Fr. Robert Bickford will officiate.

Military honors will be accorded Mrs. Tucker at graveside rites at Normal Hill cemetery. Lewis-Clark post of the American Legion will be in charge.

Mrs. Tucker and her husband, of three weeks, Sgt. Arlie D. Tucker, were killed Saturday near San Jose, Calif., in an automobile accident. She graduated from nurses training at St. Joseph's hospital in 1941 and entered the U.S. army nurses' corps as a 2nd lieutenant.

She took jungle training at Honolulu, T. H., and was assigned to the 204th general hospital in the Pacific. She was the youngest nurse in that hospital and her service included duty at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. She was discharged a year ago as a 1st lieutenant.
