Robert Storey Is Taken By Reaper

Pioneer Farmer of Pomeroy and Gifford-Myrtle Regions Dies at Age of 89; Funeral Services Today.

Robert Storey, 89, a resident of Nez Perce county for 37 years and having extensive farming interests between Gifford and Myrtle, died at his home yesterday.

A native of Butler, Butler county, Penn., he came west in 1871 and homesteaded at Pomeroy. Shortly after the opening of the Nez Perce Indian reservation he located on the farm where he died. He was active in community affairs for many years and was among the best known men in the county. He was married to Lillian DeMaris, November 11, 1873. Mrs. Storey died in 1908.

Leaves Five Children.

Mr. Storey is survived by two sons and three daughters, Ira E. Storey and James O. Storey, Gifford; Mrs. Sylvia Gallup, Moscow; Mrs. Myrtle Childs, Spokane, and Bertha Storey, Seattle; also 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the residence between Myrtle and Gifford this morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. L. C. McEwen officiating. Interment will be at the Gifford cemetery, with the Brower-Wann company in charge.
