Mike Smith Dead At 77
Mike Smith, 77, died at Somerville Home yesterday morning at 5:35. He had been ill about a month, entering St. Joseph's Hospital the first of October and the home about three weeks ago.
Mr. Smith, who had farmed in the Dakotas until he came to the Lewiston area about 25 years ago, was born at Viola, Iowa, May 3, 1880. He had resided at 310 16th St. for the last five year and at Lewiston for ten years.
After he moved to the West he worked as a laborer and lived in Alaska during two different periods, once for about two years, another time for about a year.
He is survived by three sons, Lyle Smith of Concord, Calif., Earl Smith and Evan Smith, both of Georgetown, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas Rice of Golden, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Sipes of Yakima.
The body is at the Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are undecided.
