Len Jones, Pioneer Of Grangeville, Dead

Len Jones, 68, a Lewiston resident since 1827, died at his home at G St. yesterday at 8:45 a.m. of a heart ailment.

He had come west by boat in 1888, settling first at Grangeville, where he lived until moving in 1927 to Lewiston. He worked for a number of years for the city but had been retired for several years by his illness.

He was born at Abbington, Ill., May 26, 1885, the son of the late Samuel and Sadie Jones. He married Minnie Padgett at Grangeville Dec. 7, 1920, and she survives him at the family home here.

Other survivors include a twin brother, Glen, of Lewiston, and another brother, Fred, of Camas, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Etta Young of Pomeroy, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Brower-Wann Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Elder E. A. Wilcox of the Clarkston Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery.

Lewiston, Idaho - Sept. 5 - Len Jones, 68, died yesterday morning of a heart condition.

Born May 28, 1885 at Abbington, Idaho, he came to Lewiston with his family in 1888 and was married at Grangeville, December 7, 1920.

Besides his wife, Mimi, at Lewiston, he is survived by two brothers, Glen Jones, Twin Falls, and Fred Jones, Camas, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Froney, Walla Walla, Wash., and Mrs. Etta Young, Pomeroy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Brower-Wann funeral home, with burial at Normal Hill Cemetery.
