James Foresman Succumbs at 57

Lapwai, Idaho - James G. Foresman, Lapwai, 57, a rancher and cattleman on Sweetwater Creek, died of cancer at his home yesterday.

Mr. Foresman, who was 1965 Nez Perce County "Grassman of the Year," was born June 26, 1909, at Juliaetta, Idaho, the son of George and Nellie Foresman.

In 1909 he moved to Rosetta, Idaho, in 1913 to Webb Ridge and in 1924 to his present ranch.

He married Esther Osborne at Lewiston Feb. 21, 1947. She survives at the family home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise and Esther Lynnette, and two sons, James J. and William F., all at the home; his father, Lewiston; three brothers, Clinton Carlos and Bernard, all of Lewiston, and four sisters, Alice Carpenter, Lapwai; Margaret Lee and Bessie Gaiser, both of Lewiston, and Lorena Weber, Moscow.

Rosary will be at 8 tonight at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home. Services will be held there tomorrow morning at 11 with the Rev. Patrick Phelan officiating. Burial will be in Normal Hill Cemetery.
