Richard Blewett Dead.

Former Gifford Resident Passed Away at Stites.

Richard W. Blewett of Gifford died at the home of his son, Gilbert Blewett of Stites, Monday, May 21, following a three weeks illness. Mr. Blewett was a highly respected citizen and affectionately known as "Grandpa" by most of the community. He was born in Cornwell, England, May 26, 1840. He came to Wisconsin at the age of 5 years, later removed to Kansas, and in 1910 came to this section where he made his home with his children here until February when he went to the home of his son at Stites. He is survived by five sons and four daughters, all of whom live in the surrounding community, except Mrs. Turner of Henryetta, Okla., and 33 grandchildren. His wife died 17 years ago and was buried in Kansas. Funeral services ere conducted her. Rev. Pickett of Summit officiating, with burial in the Gifford cemetery.

Miss Elva Connor of Spokane attended the funeral of her grandfather, Mr. Blewett.
