Rev. Maurace Benton

Rev. Maurace Benton died at the home of his nephew W. F. Kettenbach in this city Wednesday at 8 p. m.. He was born at Bath, New York, December 22, 1817. He was a minister of the Methodist church for about 40 years and he was an active member of the masonic arder for over 50 years. He came to Lewiston in 1888, and since that date has made his home with his children who reside in this city and in the nearby towns. He leaves four children, Mrs. Johnson, of Genesee; Mrs. Briggs and J. H. Benton, of this city, and a daughter in Chatanooga, Tenn. The funeral will take place this evening at 4 p.m. under the direction of the Masonic lodge.
