John R. Bare Succumbs At 82

John Robert Bare, 82, a retired farmer who has been living at 1136 Idaho St., died at 10:15 yesterday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been ill with heart disease.

He was born Feb. 20, 1874, at Loveland, Colo., where he lived for three years. In 1877 he came west in a procession of 63 covered wagons. His father, Ike Bare, was captain of the group which crossed the plains.

The family settled on the Alder Slope at Enterprise, Ore., where he lived until 1931. He and his family then moved to the Idaho Street address in Lewiston. He and his wife were married Jan. 2, 1900, at Imnaha, Ore.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie, at the home address; one son, Robert Bare of Lewiston; three daughters, Mrs. Lennis Weaver and Mrs. L. C. Bacon, both of Pierce, and Mrs. Josephine Lindley, of Lewiston; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Carey of Eagle, Idaho; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home with the Rev. W. W. Patterson of the Prayer League Tabernacle officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery.
